An officer from the Scarsdale Police Department on patrol near the intersection of Heathcote Road and Palmer Avenue stopped Bronx resident John Adorno at approximately 5:10 p.m. on Friday, March 29, when an alarm sounded that his vehicle had a suspended or revoked registration.

During the stop, it was determined that Adorno’s vehicle had its registration suspended on Nov. 2 last year due to “insurance not in effect.” Further investigation into Adorno determined that his license had been suspended four times for failure to pay New York State taxes, failing to pay child support and insurance not in effect.

According to police, a computer check also found that Adorno had an open warrant out for his arrest on Long Island.

Adorno was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration. He was also cited for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and has been transported to Nassau County for execution of the bench warrant. Adorno’s vehicle was taken the Scarsdale Police Department Impound Lot and Adorno is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to respond to the charges.
